History

Shelese Amos Carter was admitted to practice law in Georgia in 2004. She has also been admitted to practice law before the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals. Ms. Amos Carter obtained her Juris Doctor Degree from North Carolina Central University, where she served as President of the Trial Advocacy Board and Treasure of her Law School’s Executive Board.  She also competed on her law school's nationally ranked Trial Team and was selected as one of the top three finalist from her law school class in the Mary E. Wright Opening Argument Competition.

Prior to starting her law firm, Ms. Amos Carter served as an Assistant Public Defender in Houston County, Georgia, defending felony criminal cases. She went on to serve as a State Court Prosecutor in Forsyth County, Georgia. As a Senior Assistant Solicitor General, Ms. Amos Carter successfully prosecuted well over a thousand of criminal cases. Her extensive trial experience has uniquely positioned her to zealously defend her clients.

Ms. Amos Carter has over twelve years of professional legal experience. She founded The Amos Law Firm, LLC in March 2010 and she currently has offices in Atlanta, Georgia and Smyrna, Georgia. Ms. Amos Carter specializes in Criminal Defense and Family Law. As a former prosecutor, she is well versed in Criminal Law and she handles both misdemeanor and felony cases. She also has a passion for assisting clients with Family Law issues and she works tirelessly to ensure that her clients have the best possible outcome for their cases.
